Product Engineering in Motion: MATERIALICA 2009 expands its status as a leading trade fair for material supply
Munich, October 2009: Successful Product Engineering becomes a true reality when innovative key competences are merged at the exact right moment. This year, experts met again at the specialist trade fair MATERIALICA – 12th International Trade Fair for Material Applications, Surfaces and Product Engineering - which took place 13-15 October 2009, at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. To strengthen the individual topics of this trade fair, MATERIALICA focused on four different major topics: COMPOSITES, METAL LIGHT, CERAMICS and SURFACE. This year's MATERIALICA trade fair featured 283 companies from 11 countries and an expanded conference programme that – as well as the trade fair eCarTec that was held in parallel with this event – attracted a total of 10,624 international visitors to Munich.
MATERIALICA is the only event in Germany that has committed itself exclusively to the topic of material supply. The trade fair presented well-established as well as new materials and methods that are successfully conquering the market and that are suitable even for other applications. "However, MATERIALICA is not just a trade fair, but also a meeting point for gathering information and sharing expertise in the field of product engineering. This is why we also held conferences on the topics of composites, surface, boatbuilding and design", states Robert Metzger, Managing Director at MunichExpo Veranstaltungs GmbH and organiser of MATERIALICA. "With this additional supply of information, experts of all the MATERIALICA topics and target branches were able to expand and broaden their professional know-how. The synergy effect created by the partner event eCarTec – 1st International trade fair for electric mobility – that took place at the same time, provided additional benefits to the MATERIALICA exhibitors. Increasingly more visitors from the automotive business were registered".
The target groups were reached – the high quality of the visitors is praised The MATERIALICA 2009 exhibitors were again very satisfied with the outcome of this event. "The trade fair is very versatile, in which the visitors come from the most different areas of product engineering. We were very surprised by the quality of the visitors", states Dipl.-Ing. Georg Remm, Techical Distribution, DIAB GmbH. "We are very satisfied with the run of this year’s trade fair. The number of people visiting our trade fair stand was very high" states Marcus Spanring, Technical Manager, Diamond Aircraft Industries GmbH. Dr. Michael Schmitt, Technical Account Manager, Innovation Friction, Sealing and Paper at Teijin Aramid GmbH is also highly satisfied: "The trade fair was indeed very good. Moreover, with its partner trade fair eCarTec, it was an enrichment for the trade fair landscape". In addition, new exhibitors reacted very positively to the event: "This is our first time as exhibitors at MATERIALICA. We are very happy with the trade fair and the quality of the visitors – all of the discussions were very well-founded", says Rainer Sieberth, Sales Manager, voestalpine Krems GmbH. "The trade fair got better and better each day and was a real success for us", says Carsten Schmidt, Project Manager, EPG AG. Matthias Hörhager, Head of Marketing at Becker Carbon GmbH, also cuts right to the chase and to the point: "The MATERIALICA event was very positive. We are looking forward to next year".
Important dates 2010 The next MATERIALICA will take place 19-21 October 2010, which is an event that many project engineering experts have most likely jotted down on their calendars already. eCarTec will also be held in parallel with this event.
