MATERIALICA 2007 expands its status as a leading trade fair for material supply

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, MATERIALICA 2007, the leading trade fair for material supply, took place at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre from October 16 through 18 and presented numerous supplier-oriented products and innovations. 320 represented companies from 15 countries demonstrated their entire value-added chain of product engineering comprising raw materials, semifinished products, components as well as methods and services to as many as 7,023 international specialist visitors. The show featured renowned exhibiting companies such as Becker Carbon, CarboTech, DSM Composite Resins, European Space Space Agency, Eurocopter, Icotec, Isovolta, MT Aerospace, Schaal, Schott, SGL Carbon or Zwick.

“We are extremely happy with the course of MATERIALICA 2007. Exhibitors as well as visitors discussed the importance of MATERIALICA for the core industries automobile, aerospace, engineering, sports and consumer goods with me", explains Robert Metzger, Managing Director at MunichExpo Veranstaltungs GmbH and organizer of MATERIALICA. The high marketability of presented exhibits, the large potential for a faster implementation of highly competitive product features, the successful integratability in above–mentioned user industries and the large number of decision-makers on site are crucial factors for the success of MATERIALICA. By offering a comprehensive congress schedule covering the topics composites, metal lightweight design, technology transfer, surface, design and boatbuilding, we definitely hit the mark. Approximately 600 participants from the industry sectors and medium-sized companies convey a clear message. Next year, we will expand even further into this sector. Unfortunately, the fact that the German Federal Railway Corporation went on strike on Thursday cost us our new visitor record.

Target group reached – the high quality of visitors was praised
This year’s MATERIALICA 2007 convinced its visitors, and especially exhibitors praised the very dense specialist visitor structure. “The trade fair was a great success. Many people visited our stand. Dieter Sygulla, Head of Strategy and R&D at MT Aerospace AG sums up the trade fair’s success by stating: "I consider the trade fair a perfect meeting point for medium-sized corporations and a place where the foundation for future projects is laid.” Also Michael Bertl, Area Sales Manager at Secar Technologies GmbH gives praise to the top event: “MATERIALICA is characterized by the high quality of its visitor structure and its busy atmosphere. Our stand was almost run over. It was a major success.” Jörg Vollmann, Managing Director at Albert Handtmann Elteka GmbH & Co. KG recommends the trade fair as follows: We consider MATERIALICA the only interesting trade fair in the south of Germany. The structure of visitors is far more targeted than compared with the Hanover fair. We are convinced that this trade fair ensures more professional conversations than other trade fairs." Also Matthias Anton, Head of Distribution at Schott AG, praises the trade fair: “We were very happy about the course of MATERIALICA. The contacts we made were all part of the target group we wanted to reach. The quality of visitors was very high.” Dipl.-Ing. Franz Frisch (EPG Germany AG), too, is very happy: “We made great contacts with members of the upper development levels and Managing Directors of technological corporations which resulted in interesting and serious discussions. For us, the trade fair was a major success.” Dr. Hans-Wolfgang Schröder, Managing Director at Carbon Composites e.V. after his very first participation: “For Carbon Composites e.V., MATERIALICA is a good opportunity to discuss different topics with potential members, active members and other business partners." And Dipl.-Ing. Stefan Stöcker at Fries Research & Technology GmbH is already thinking of next year: “We will be back.”
